Nuclear Medicine at COC

Seeing disease through function and anatomy

Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to evaluate how organs, tissues and disease processes function. At Cameroon Oncology Center, SPECT-CT combines functional nuclear medicine information with CT localization, helping clinicians interpret findings in their anatomical context.

Oncology

Supports selected cancer evaluation, staging, assessment of disease distribution and follow-up in coordination with oncology specialists.

Bone Imaging

Functional skeletal imaging can help evaluate suspected metastatic disease and other clinically indicated bone abnormalities.

Organ Function

Nuclear medicine studies can provide functional information that complements conventional anatomical imaging when clinically indicated.

CURRENT COC TECHNOLOGY GE Discovery NM/CT 670 SPECT-CT

COC operates a GE Discovery NM/CT 670 SPECT-CT system. The platform combines gamma-camera nuclear medicine imaging with CT, enabling functional findings to be localized more precisely within the body.

SPECT

Three-dimensional functional imaging using radiopharmaceutical distribution.

CT Localization

Anatomical information helps localize and characterize functional findings.
