Australia’s First Women on the Ice Project – Sponsorship opportunity

The Tasmanian Polar Network is pleased to share an exciting sponsorship opportunity through our Antarctic Women’s Network (AWN), supporting a significant new project titled Australia’s First Women to the Ice .

This project, already backed by several TPN members and partner organisations, will document and celebrate the stories of ten of Australia’s earliest women who travelled to the Antarctic, sub‑Antarctic and Southern Ocean. Through in‑depth oral history interviews, these pioneering experiences will be preserved and brought to life by two artists, culminating in a major public exhibition.

The exhibition will premiere in Hobart, with the potential to tour nationally, ensuring these important stories reach a wide audience.
