1. Learn from world class researchers
The lecturers at the University of Bergen are also researchers. Many of them are among the very best in the world in their fields. They conduct research on important societal issues such as terrorism, climate change, and refugees.
2. Education that secures employment
Our study programmes are developed in line with societal and labour market needs. A graduate survey from 2022 shows that more than 9 out of 10 master's graduates were in relevant jobs within a year after completing their degree. Nearly half secured a job before finishing their studies.
3. Study in the heart of the city
We are the only university in the country with its main campus located in the city centre. At UiB, you are within immediate reach of study halls, grocery stores, cafés, nightlife, cultural offerings, and everything else Bergen has to offer. If you need to get around Bergen, there is an excellent public transport system, with frequent light rail and bus services. Students also get discounts on tickets.
4. Choose from nearly 200 study programmes
UiB offers education in a wide range of subjects, from languages, law, engineering, and medicine to psychology, teaching, philosophy, and much more. With us, everyone can find something they are passionate about studying!
Note that most of the study programmes are taught in Norwegian, but we also offer some studies in English.
