The City of Windhoek Council has approved the establishment of Cimbebasia Extension 10, as part of its step towards expanding residential development.
The decision was made during the Council meeting held on 29 October 2026, as the City tries to increase the availability of serviced land in Windhoek.
Extension 10 is located approximately seven kilometres south of the Central Business District, on the southwestern edge of Cimbebasia and bordered by Mataman and Ondangaura Streets.
The proposed township covers approximately 63,175 square metres according to the Council’s Meeting Summary.
The approved layout provides for 107 erven, comprising 99 residential erven, two general residential erven, municipal erven, an office erf, public open space and streets.
According to the City Council’s Summary, residential properties will be developed at a density of one dwelling unit per 300 square metres, while the general residential erven will allow for a higher density of one dwelling unit per 150 square metres.
Approximately 104 erven are anticipated to be made available for public sale.
CoW indicated that the development is intended primarily for residential purposes, with provision for complementary land uses to support the future neighbourhood.
