For a world where women don’t have to choose between safety, rights, and dignity
Croatian Women's Fund
A society cannot be just if women are denied safety, health, and choice. Recognizing persistent systemic inequalities and gaps in institutional support, Solidarna established the Croatian Women’s Fund in 2019.
The Fund mobilizes resources, knowledge, and networks to achieve measurable change: in the lives of women and children who survive violence, in laws that need to better protect them, and in communities working for a safer and more equal future.

How we work
Our work is organized around three program pillars, each supported by strong advocacy and community-led action: prevention and response to gender-based violence, reproductive rights, and economic empowerment.Through funding, knowledge-sharing, and connection, the Fund supports both survivors of violence and the organizations that protect them. We work from feminist values, with an intersectional approach, and without unnecessary bureaucracy, prioritizing safety, dignity, and agency at every stage. Women who have survived violence can apply for financial support here.

We provide practical, timely support to women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence, including housing, basic needs, legal aid, therapy, and care. Alongside immediate assistance, we invest in education and awareness to prevent violence before it happens.

We work to expand access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare and quality sexual education. Our programs support women and young people in making informed, autonomous decisions about their reproductive health, with dignity and without barriers.

We provide targeted support for initiatives advancing women’s rights, equality and safety. The Croatian Women’s Fund offers two grant streams: for long-term advocacy and community-based action designed to fill critical gaps and strengthen grassroots efforts.

Education & prevention programs
Since 2019, the Croatian Women’s Fund has actively promoted gender equality and women’s rights across generations. We work in collaboration with civil society, public institutions, and socially responsible companies that recognize the importance of lasting change. Through continuous education, awareness-raising, and public engagement, we aim to build understanding, shift mindsets, and strengthen support for a more equal and just society.
Stand Up Against Street Harassment
Through the Croatian Women’s Fund, the SOLIDARNA Foundation runs an educational program focused on the prevention of harassment in public spaces. The Stand Up project raises awareness about street harassment and teaches people how to respond safely, whether they experience it themselves or witness it - using the proven 5D methodology.
