PEDERNALES, RD. La terminal turística de Cabo Rojo recibió este lunes dos importantes cruceros internacionales, lo que representa un movimiento de aproximadamente 5,771 pasajeros y 2,264 tripulantes, fortaleciendo la actividad turística y comercial de esta sureña provincia de República Dominicana.
Se trata de los cruceros el Independence of the Seas, de Royal Caribbean International, y el Nieuw Amsterdam, de Holland America Line.
El ministro de Turismo, David Collado, destacó el impacto económico que tiene la llegada de esos dos cruceros zona y dijo que esas dos tocadas reafirman el posicionamiento de Pedernales como uno de los destinos emergentes de la industria de cruceros en el Caribe.
«La visita de esos cruceristas tiene un derrame económico directo en la población y esa es nuestra visión: que el desarrollo del turismo vaya de la mano con el desarrollo de las comunidades», dijo el ministro Collado.
La llegada de cruceristas
A nivel nacional, República Dominicana recibió este lunes un total de cinco cruceros, con aproximadamente 15,503 pasajeros y 6,421 tripulantes, distribuidos en sus diferentes puertos turísticos, reflejando el dinamismo de la actividad de cruceros y la capacidad del país para recibir embarcaciones de distintas líneas y segmentos del mercado internacional.
