Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE)

Institut Pendidikan Teknikal Brunei (IBTE) was established by the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Mahrum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam during the Celebration of Isra ‘and Mi’raj on the 27 Rejab 1435 Hijrah / 27th May 2014. IBTE’s role is to replace the responsibilities mandated to the Department of Technical Education, in terms of transforming the existing administrative structure to a system that is based on the Board of Governance consitution. The rationale for the establishment of IBTE is to restructure the technical education system to be more responsive and relevant to the needs of the country.
