The Fanachu Famalåo’an 2026 Women's Summit, hosted by the Guam Women's Chamber of Commerce, brought together professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders to reflect on this year's theme, “Radiance.”

The theme invited attendees to consider “the women that we have become through our experience and our challenges and the women that we're still becoming,” said Guam Visitors Bureau President and CEO Regine Biscoe Lee, one of the event's speakers.

Keynote speaker Asia Camacho Hilario, a women's empowerment coach who recently returned to Saipan after 24 years away, urged attendees to reclaim the woman within and examine the roles they inherited from the women in their families.

Hilario described letting go of those expectations as a process of “chipping away.”

“It's not an overnight process,” she said. “It's slowly recognizing the roles we've been playing, questioning whether we still want to carry them and then giving ourselves permission to do things differently.”

Hilario said she has worked with thousands of women, drawing in part from her own experiences. She described being known as a woman who “gets stuff done” and often being told she is “her mother's daughter.”

Her mother is the eldest of 10 children, and both her mother and grandmother were hard workers who started multiple businesses, she said.

Those experiences taught her that she could “honor the women who came before ... without having to carry everything they carried.”

“And I could be the woman who changes what the next generation of girls in my family gets to witness,” Hilario said.
