GCS now offers an interest-free rental deposit scheme to help islanders who can't afford the upfront costs of securing a home in the private rental market
We can help you if:
You have been a permanent resident of Guernsey for at least 12 months* and ar e eligible to live and work in the island.
You can’t afford to pay the deposit and/or a month’s rent in advance and you’re not able to get a conventional loan from a licenced lender.
But you do you have enough money to pay the monthly rent and to repay our loan to you, taking account of any ESS benefits you receive.
You are aged 18 or over (in some cases we may be able to help if you are 16 or 17) * We may also be able to help you if you are a local resident returning to the Bailiwick
How the scheme works
Firstly, come in and talk to us at GCS. We will explain the scheme to you and help you to complete an application form. Our opening hours are at the foot of this page. We can also arrange an appointment outside opening hours - just call 01481 700360.
