Obstetrics
We offer antenatal and postnatal care for pregnant women, consulting or referring patients appropriately for pregnancy related complications or for delivery to hospital based specialists.
It is recommended that women planning a pregnancy should have a pre-pregnancy evaluation so that problems that could affect the outcome of the pregnancy be detected early, and corrected if possible.
Once pregnancy is confirmed there is a schedule of antenatal visits that should be followed, to allow for prenatal blood tests, screening for certain maternal infection, evaluation of the age and growth of the baby by ultrasound, detection, and treatment of pregnancy complications, etc.
Eureka Medical Clinic is equipped with state of the art ultrasound and laboratory facilities (Medicure Lab). Rhogam (anti-Rhesus factor antibody) injections are available to reduce Rhesus factor sensitization in those mothers who have the Rhesus negative blood type.
Gynaecology
We also offer a full range of office based gynecological evaluation, investigations, and treatment.
There services include:
Contraception: oral contraceptive, depo-hormone injection, intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD), and arranging for laparoscopic tubal ligation, as appropriate.
Cervical cancer screening: annual pap smear (by the modern thin-prep method). Testing for HPV (human papilloma virus), the recognized cause of cervical cancer can be requested. Women with abnormal pap smears can have the cervix further evaluated under the video-microscope by colposcopy.
