Each snorkel and dive site offers something unique, promising new wonders at every stop. From colorful coral gardens to thriving marine life, Belize’s underwater world is a treasure trove of biodiversity that will leave you inspired and in awe. Come explore the beauty beneath the surface!
Places for great diving and snorkeling include:
Hol Chan Marine Reserve & Shark Ray Alley
Located in northern of Belize and visible from the southeastern shore of Ambergris Caye, the country's largest island, Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley are among Belize's most popular dive and snorkel spots. Hol Chan opens to deeper waters beyond the reef, where divers and snorkelers are greeted by a vibrant array of marine life, including colorful fish, nurse sharks, rays, turtles, and even the occasional dolphin. Shark Ray Alley's main attraction is, of course, its sharks and stingrays, offering an adrenaline rush as you watch a nurse shark streak by with its stippled hide (but remember, touching them is strictly prohibited).
