Symphony of Stones
Scenic views of the Symphony of Stones guarantee exceptional photos. Many people visit this natural monument because of its majestic views created by the collapse of volcanic rocks. Take a nice low-angle shot to include the massive gray basalt stones in the frame.
This monument is only a 5-minute drive from Garni Temple and consists of massive paradoxically symmetric hexagon and pentagon basalt columns (nearly 50 meters high). These stones suspended against gravity resemble organs, hence the name.
02
Cascade Complex
Climb the 572 steps to the top of the Cascade Complex, Yerevan's white beauty in the heart of the city. Sunset is a great time to take photos because the sunlight highlights the massive limestone stairway.
The Cafesjian Center for the Arts now occupies the building. The Cascade's exterior features multiple levels of fountains and modernist sculptures from the Cafesjian collection. When viewed from the bottom, the complex can be seen in its entirety. Climbing the steps allows you to take beautiful panoramic photos of Yerevan and Mount Ararat.
03
Gutanasar
In Gutanasar, you will always take stunning photographs. Huge, dark, and sandy walls create a striking contrast that makes it possible for a breathtaking view of nature.
Gutanasar is on the way from Yerevan to Lake Sevan. In about 40 minutes, you will get to Fantan village, where Gutanasar is located. Snap some photos from a distance, but don't hesitate to make a quick ascent of the black sand wall to get close-up shots.
04
Garni Temple
Because of how well its distinctive architectural style blends with the mountainous surroundings, Garni Temple is yet another amazing Instagram-worthy location.
Garni Temple is located in Garni village – just a 45-minute drive from Yerevan. You can take stunning pictures of the temple in the distance or up-close ones of the elaborately carved ceiling and column capitals. Consider going to the Garni temple just before sunset for stunning photos.
05
Shaki Waterfall
Shaki, one of Armenia's magnificent waterfalls, is a wonderful place to take beautiful pictures. Use long exposures or include the water's tiny rainbows in your pictures.
To get to Shaki waterfall, travel to Sisian and follow the picturesque road that skirts the gorge of the Vorotan river. Park your car and take the rocky path up to the waterfall. Take pictures of yourself and the Shaki waterfall using the enormous rocks in front, and then ascend the slope to the right of the waterfall to enjoy the view from the top.
06
The Arch of Charents
Get a nice mixture of architectural and natural vibes in your pictures when visiting the Arch of Charents. This monument's site was specifically chosen by architect Israyelyan because it is one of the best places to capture breathtaking images of Mount Ararat.
The Arch of Charents is easy to reach.
